Cladwell Alternative: How Clad9 Compares

Cladwell has been helping people wear what they own for years: build a capsule, and each day it suggests an outfit from it for the weather. Clad9 shares the conviction and plans more of the day: three looks from your own closet, for the weather, the events on your calendar, and what's actually clean, and shows each one on you.

Why Clad9 Goes Further

Cladwell said it early and plainly: wearing what you own is "a radical act against consumerism". Its capsule templates make a start possible without photographing a thing, and a weather-aware outfit every morning is still the right idea. Clad9 is built on the same conviction.

Clad9 plans for the day you actually have. One outfit for the weather can't know about Thursday's client dinner, or that your navy blazer went into the wash on Monday. Clad9 reads both, plans three looks around them, and lets you swap any single piece without starting again.

It also shows your own clothes, at their best. Clad9 catalogues the pieces you photograph, screenshot or link, and turns each into a clean studio-style image, so your closet reads like a lookbook instead of a camera roll or a catalogue of stock photos.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does Cladwell cost?

Its own pricing page lists a $0 plan with one daily outfit and five stylist messages a month, then $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Its iOS listing shows $39.99 a year with a 7-day trial, so check the price in your app store.

Does Cladwell know about my plans for the day?

Cladwell's daily outfit follows the weather. We found no calendar connection. Clad9 connects to Google Calendar and dresses each upcoming event for its dress code and its forecast.

Will Clad9 suggest something I wore yesterday?

Not if you've logged it. Photograph what you wore and each piece is marked as worn; washable pieces go to the laundry basket and recently worn pieces are held back for a week.
